My theme song

With the spiritual turmoil of the last couple of years, I find this simple song expresses where my heart is.

Jerusalem, My Destiny
I have set my eyes on your hills,
Jerusalem, my Destiny.
Though I cannot see the end for me
I cannot turn away.

We have set our hearts for the way;
This journey is our destiny.
Let no one walk alone.
This journey makes us one.

Carrie,

I attended a Palm Sunday Mass last Sunday. The choir sang this song...it was actually the first time I remember hearing this hymn. Oh, the truth behind the words...

Where did you attend, Jimmy? I love Holy Week in the Catholic Church. I can't help it. It's such an incredible immersion into the heart of the gospel. As one Catholic friend said, Palm Sunday is like a mini-Triduum. We get the whole story from the triumphal entry into Jerusalem, through the Last Supper, betrayal, crucifixion, and resurrection. Then You have the Triduum itself, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the glorious Easter Vigil on Saturday night.

After the Triduum at St. Thomas Moore, Will and I attended Easter morning service with the kids at Grace. We definitely haven't "walked alone" this week, and the words to this song seemed even more special as we worshiped with fellow Christians in very different ways.

We were visiting friends in Lexington , KY. Two of the kids and mom are converting Catholics, while dad and one child remain just common christians. It was a Catholic church very close to UK. For that reason the music and worship service were full of talented folks.
